It's HERE! The trailer to the final installment of The Hunger Games saga, [The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2](tag:449866), and boy, was it full of goodies. Starting ominously with a scene of part of the Capitol in flames, the trailer starts with Snow acknowledging that Katniss and Snow have both been keeping tabs on each other when he says,
Ooooh!!! The chills! But wait, there's more! Commander Paylor gives a speech in which she tells us that for the first time their lifetime, all 13 districts are standing with each other, and will march in on the Capitol, but that there will be traps. However, Katniss, followed by a crowd, marches to the Capitol.
But here comes one of three major goodies spotted in the trailer.
1. The Black Goo
This stuff is unleashed when Katniss and her team are making their way through the Capitol. And for anyone who's read the book, you know you do not want to get caught in it. Run, Katniss, run! (Hehehehe, couldn't resist the Forest Gump reference)
2. The Lizard Mutts
Half-human, half-lizard, these mutts are unleashed on Katniss and her team while they are traveling in the Capitol's underground tunnels. And they are as vicious as they look, and not everyone will make it.
Instrumental in getting Katniss and her team into the Capitol was Tigris. I don't know about you, but I was fan girl squealing in my head when I saw her in the trailer, because there is no doubt it's her.
Bonus: The Parachutes Outside Snow's Mansion
I'm not including this one in the goodies cause it's a major "saddie!" These seemingly benign parachutes deal the final blow when they
turn out to be bombs that ultimately kill Prim!
Of course, I could be wrong. But, I have a feeling I'm not.
There's plenty more in the trailer, you'll just have to watch for yourself. The movie hits theaters November 20th, and until then, I will wait anxiously to see Katniss take on the goo, lizard mutts, and more while I simultaneously despair at the impending doom of some of our favorite characters.
Fortunately, we're supposed to be getting the epilogue from the book, too, so there's something to look forward to when all is said and done.
