Yes, in the context of the movie, Hope is finally getting the chance she deserves and yes, it's an oblique acknowledgement of Wasp's status as a founder. Internally, I 100% buy the idea that Marvel is promising to raise the significance level of their female characters on film. Kevin Feige has publicly admitted the necessity of doing so. I do find it unlilely that Wasp will get a solo film, but she will be important, even vital, to the goings-on moving forward. Frankly, I doubt that Evangeline Lily would have signed a multiple-film deal to play a damsel-in-distress.
