1997's Batman & Robin, directed by Joel Schumacher, and starring #GeorgeClooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and #UmaThurman, is probably the most hated #Batman film of them all - not just because the Bat-nipples.
#TimBurton introduced us to a darker, more gritty, take on the Caped Crusader in 1989, and ushered in a new generation of fans into the comicbook world/universe. Mr. Burton, you could say, kicked off comicbook movies to what they are today, and without him, we probably wouldn't have the ones we have now. That means that #Marvel would still be putting out poor movies, and #DC's would still be more kid-friendly.
Though, without Tim Burton directing, the Batman movies went downhill pretty quickly -Bat-nipples people...Bat-nipples! But, what if he contined to direct them, would the movie still be that bad? One #YouTuber by the name of Sam Ibrahim, took the challenge and re-edited a trailer as if he, Tim Burton, still went on to direct the franchise. Take a look:
The first thing you'll probably notice is the overall tone of the finished product - it's darker, and the title has change to...Sub-Zero! If you were a fan of Batman: The Animated Series, then you will probably remember that awesome movie than came out of the same name.
#JoelSchumacher, of course, wanted to do something widely different from what Tim Burton had given (and he sure as hell did), so he changed the character, and made everything lighter than it should have, so, the re-edited trailer has a darker feel to it, just like Burton's films have, and everything is done in shades of dark blue.
You might also notice that we never hear any of those horrible one-liners, as they're nowhere to be found, and in fact, we never get a line of dialogue from #GeorgeClooney as either #BruceWayne or #Batman! We also never get a full-on-glance at Mr. Freeze either, because in this version, he's not played by #ArnoldSchwarzenegger anymore, but instead, its #Dexter's Michael C. Hall.
The most interesting thing about this version of Batman & Robin is that there isn't Poison Ivy, any sign of Bane, and NO Batgirl! All of these characters have been cut entirely from a movie that, now, focuses solely on Mr. Freeze as the villain. The best part of it all? Dick Grayson isn't playing Robin in this film. Instead, he makes the transition into...wait for it - Nightwing!
I don't know about any of you, but I'm SUPER bummed that this isn't actually going to be happening.
But, what do you think?
If this was an actual film, how excited would you be to see this?
