"Horns, a supernatural thriller driven by fantasy, mystery, and romance, follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend, Merrin (Temple). Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer.
This rock and roll infused dark fantasy explores why bad things happen to good people and what the loss of true love can do to a man. The widely acclaimed book was on the New York Times bestseller list for six weeks and has become an international bestseller as well."
I'm one of those guys that reads a lot, so I've followed (and collected) Joe Hill's books since his breakout novel Heart Shaped Box. That being said, I easily read between 15 and 20 books every year, and if I had to pick an absolute favorite, it'd be Horns. I remember buying it at a Borders Books & Music before they went out of business, and I think I read it in just two days. After that, I was obsessed. To me, it's a twisted modern day version of James O'Barr's The Crow, which I'm a fan of. So, when I found out it was being made into amovie I was a bit skeptical, but remained optimistic. Then I heard that Alexandre Aja (High Tension) was going to direct it, and I was instantly at ease, because he's a phenomenal filmmaker! Then, my eagerness rose evenmore when Horns hit the film circuits last year and got outstanding reviews.
At SDCC this year the trailer finally debuted, and there's been another since. Both of which look very worthy of living up to the novel. We also got a few posters, but they saved the best for last, because the new international one-sheet (my favorite) and the two character one-sheets look amazing! Check them out!
Horns is easily my most anticipated film to be released this year, and it comes out on Halloween both internationally and in America! How perfect is that timing?
