Current Writer For Hire, Future Billionaire/Superhero. Find Me @TheWayneMansion

The Arrowverse crossover is less than a week away, which means it's time that The CW starts dropping more hints about the upcoming TV extravaganza. The four-part superhero crossover will be the first time all of the shows combine together properly. Not only will characters like Alex and Zari be joining the mix, but the crossover (unlike last year's) will be a proper four-part crossover, beginning in Supergirl and continuing in each of the other shows.

Now, The CW has offered up a new poser for fans to get excited about, and it features two renowned DC comic characters.

The first, illustrated poster left many fans scratching their heads, as it seemed all the Arrowverse's best and brightest would be facing off against only four Earth-X villains.

The new poster, though, not only includes known foes like Prometheus, Reverse Flash and Overgirl, but also DC comics superhero Red Tornado, and villain Metallo facing off against Team Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and the Legends.

Supergirl introduced Metallo in the second season, and although the villain popped up again, he wasn't a particularly memorable threat. Of course there is a major difference between the Earth-X version and the one we know and hate, since it seems like this Metallo will be fully AI, unlike 's half human version.

Red Tornado, too, is a Supergirl villain, though he was reimagined as a combat android designed to kill Kryptonians in the show. After his brief appearance in Supergirl's standout Season 1 episode "Red Faced", the android was seemingly destroyed and never resurfaced.

It's important to remember, though, that Red Tornado is traditionally a good guy in the comics. Red Tornado was originally created as an enemy to the Justice League, though he eventually redeemed himself, not only adopting a human alter ego but also becoming a member of the team. So it may very well be that in the crossover, the android will betray the villains and turn over a new leaf, becoming a a prominent part of the Arrowverse following the events of the crossover — just like Red Tornado did after his encounter with the Justice League.

The writers' decision to bring up this character is certainly an interesting one, regardless of whether he goes on to become a major part of the Arrowverse. And it has fans like me all the more excited to check out the four part crossover next week on The CW.
