Gegard Mousasi is a top 5 UFC middleweight, the problem is that he's currently not signed to the UFC. Mousasi is waiting to sign a new deal, which should have some financial upside considering that he's in the midst of his 4th streak of 4+ straight victories in his career. His TKO victory over at was one of his biggest and surely added a few digits to his asking price.

Contingent on him re-signing with the UFC, Mousasi will be just one or two wins away title shot.

The man he's chasing for the title? .

Bisping just so happened to be a host of UFC Tonight when Mousasi sat down to talk about his future and the two wasted no time throwing a few barbs back-and-forth.

Bisping was quick to point out that Mousasi was excluded from the middleweight interim title fight, which includes Yoel Romero and the surging Robert Whittaker. The Brit also let Mousasi know that both men beat Jacare, a fighter that submitted Mousasi when they met in 2014.

Mousasi wasted no time reminding Bisping of the unpredictable nature of the UFC.

"Every time the best fighter doesn't win," said Mousasi. "It happened with you and [Luke] Rockhold."

Bisping tried to skirt past the comment, but it was clear that Mousasi landed the hardest jab Bisping has felt since his last title defense.

The two continued their banter throughout the interview, but in the end, Bisping showed respect for Mousasi. He even suggested an interesting opponent for Mousasi's next opponent, .

"I think so. It's taking a long time," said Mousasi. "Luke is injured, he did some cell rehab something but if you're ACL is torn — I don't want to train for a guy that is going to get injured again. Hopefully, he's recovered and that's a fight I think fans will also like."

Luke Rockhold's Instagram message to Dana White suggests that he's ready to fight Mousasi at Anaheim's .

That fight could very well set up the first middleweight title contender of 2018 and make an already exciting card that much better.
