In 2013, Disney released the hit animated musical film, Frozen, starring Idina Mitzel (Wicked), Kristen Bell (Lifeguard), and Josh Gad (Pixels), including the hit song, Let It Go. The story focuses on a woman in Arandelle trying to find her sister Elsa whose powers have accidentally frozen the kingdom.
As of late 2014, in the first half of S4 of the hit ABC series, Once Upon a Time, Elsa and Anna debuted, each in the form of Georgina Haig (Incorporated) and Elizabeth Lail (Dead Summer). They alongside the heroic residents of Storybrooke battle the cold hearted icy powered Snow Queen also known as Ingrid, played by the woman from the Santa Clause films, The Purge: Election Year, and NBC's former series, Revolution, whose Anna and Elsa's aunt.
As of 2015, Disney has announced a future live action Frozen film with Elizabeth Lail and Georgina Haig again as Anna and Elsa; this time, in the film itself. It shall also star Grant Gustin (The Flash) as Kristoff, Jonah Hill as the voice of Olaf, Jerry Trainer as Hans, and Derek Mears (SvB Dawn of Justice) as the voice of the snow monster, Marshmallow. Frozen cools over cinemas summer 2020.
In the anticipated meantime, Frozen shall also get a Broadway musical adaptation, starring mainly Danielle Panabaker (The Flash/Piranha 3DD) as Elsa. Lily James will most likely play the role of Anna in the future Broadway musical.
Frozen debuts on Broadway as of 2018.
