Do you love all of your old consoles? I know I do. I was heartbroken when I had to trade in my old SNES to a GameCrazy when my family moved. I have since repurchased an SNES so I have something to play Super Mario Kart, NBA Jam, and Donkey Kong Country on.
I am always looking for new pieces of hardware. Face it, shiny new stuff kind of just rocks. It’s even better when the new stuff finds a way to appeal to our senses of nostalgia. Case in point: Simply gazing upon these custom SNES systems from RoseColoredGaming will make your day.
You never thought that you needed a transparent SNES before, did you? I know I didn't — but now, I can't wait to get one. These custom consoles might be a way to make your gaming setup look a little more at home in your more-adult living spaces.
“So this past week, Wiggy has been hard at work making and prototyping our own custom SNES shells. A lot of hard work goes into the creation of these shells. We plan on doing various colors, but as of now, we are just trying to get all of the technical work out of the way. Wiggy has gotten to the point where we can actually put a SNES board in the shell, but there is still much work to be done.”
RCG gives the details on how it has achieved this crazy-cool look. Laser etching and mirrored finishes are only enhanced by the fact that you can see through the console itself! If you want one right now, you are going to have to wait a bit; however, you can whet your appetite with more information from RCG’s website:
“The exterior housing consists of high density acrylic that has been laser cut, laser etched, and heat formed. The case features a redesigned power switch which we also manufacture here. The exterior finish is high gloss transparent with mirrored purple and orange component accents on the interior. Features high gloss automotive paint finish.
