Recently, I started to feel the longing to return to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, a hunger caused by my hunger for more since I watched ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’. As I couldn’t expend the time it’d take to read all seven books again, I decided to re-watch the movies. A decision well made. I realized how much I’ve missed Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Albus Dumbledore, and all the other inhabitants of Hogwarts. Truth is, most alums of Harry Potter haven’t been in the news, but doesn’t mean that they seized to exist. Today, we’re doing something of a throwback. The Harry Potter cast, where are they now?

In no particular order:

1. Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)

Emma Watson

Obviously the more successful of the three leads, Emma Watson has long moved on to greater deals since the end of Harry Potter. She’s stared in The Perks of Being A Wallflower and also as the titular Belle in Disney’s movie adaption of Beauty and The Beast, among other movies. Hermione was the smartest kid in the movies, it’s good to see the actress who portrayed doing smarter works in real life.

2. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe had the opportunity of a lifetime when he was perfectly cast as Harry Potter. Since the end, Radcliffe has been more involved in stage productions, he’s a regular face at Broadway. Asides, the stage, Radcliffe has also featured in movies like Now You See Me 2, and many more.

3. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley)

Rupert Grint
Rupert Grint

He’s been the least prominent of the three leads, which is no one’s fault in particular. Rupert was perfect as Harry’s best friend, and the years since the final movie has seen him in a few other movies, such the 2012 war film, Comrade.

4. Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)

For every hero, there exists a villain, that’s what Draco Malfoy was to Harry Potter (forgive me, Lord Voldermort). Since his tenure as an annoying child, Tom has been very busy; he was in Rise of the Planet of the apes, The Apparition, and a recurring character in the third season of The Flash as Dr. Alchemy.

5. Mathew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)

It’s almost impossible to reconcile Mathew Lewis now with him during his era as Neville. These days, the photos of him in the media are either him bulking up or displaying a newly acquired tattoo. You can check him out in the 2016 movie, Me Before You.

6. James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley)

The Phelp brothers
The Phelp brothers

The hilarious Weasley brothers who couldn’t be torn apart, were always up to no good; they were always a delight to watch during the franchise run. They can most recently be seen in the 2015 movie, Danny and the Hunam Zoo.

7. Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

The beautiful, mysterious Luna; I l loved her. She’s really in the movies now, but can most recently be seen in Danny and the Hunam Zoo, and My name is Emily, all 2015 movies.

8. Natalie Tena (Nymphadora)

Nymphadora wasn’t really given much screen time in the franchise, but her presence could be felt in the fifth installment (Order of the Phoenix). The actress moved on to another hit franchise, Game of Thrones, where her talents were better appreciated.

9. Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn)

Another alum of Harry Potter to join Game of Thrones.

10. David Bradley (Argus Flinch)

This is the most notable Harry Potter alum to transcend to Game of Thrones. Bradley played despicable characters in both franchises; in GOT, he meant a fitting cruel end.
