The opening weekend for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has come and gone, earning a total of 155 million dollars domestically and a grand total of 290.5 million dollars world wide. The film's overall success doesn't stop there, though, as it earned another 17.7 million dollars this past Monday. Ticket sales for the first stand alone Star Wars movie could continue to peak as more school districts let out for winter break.
Set just prior to the events of A New Hope, Rogue One tells the story of a ragtag group of rebels that undergo a dangerous mission to steal the Galactic Empire's designs for their new planet obliterating weapon, the Death Star.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, the movie stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Forest Whitaker. Rogue One can be seen now in theaters everywhere.
