It seems like nowadays every show that was popular in the 90s and 2000s has at least an inkling of being remade, but one show that has been surprisingly quiet on the reboot front is Seinfeld: the classic show about nothing.
The time is ripe for Seinfeld to come back for perhaps a short 6 episode revival just to show us what's been happening with Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer and maybe even make up for that divisive finale. Larry David is already bringing back one of his critical hits, Curb Your Enthusiasm, this fall after 6 years so why not return to the show that made him famous and make that season 7 story-line from Curb come true
Seinfeld is still tremendously popular thanks to DVDs and streaming on Hulu and seems to have an everlasting appeal that could fit in almost any era and we especially need it for this one(there is even a popular twitter account called Modern Seinfeld that imagines if Seinfeld was still on the air)
With the exception of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who will be done with her current show Veep after the upcoming seven and final season, The main cast: Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Richards and Jason Alexander don't have much on their plates so it wouldn't be that hard to get them all together.
A Seinfeld reunion would be a huge deal for NBC which is already bringing back Will and Grace this fall and this could be just another step on the road back to Must-See TV.
With the 20 year anniversary of the finale(which is still discussed) coming up NBC would be a fool not to capitalize on the shows continued popularity and maybe make up for the finale in some peoples' eyes.
If NBC doesn't want to pick up the revival perhaps Hulu, who has the exclusive streaming rights to the series and could use the revival to get a leg up on competitor Netflix.
With so many shows, deservedly or not, being brought back from the television graveyard I think the show about nothing is due for a comeback and not just as a fictional story-line in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
