It has already been a pivotal year for mixed martial arts but there is even more history to be made in the coming months. The transition from 2016 to 2017 is going to be huge for fans of . Some fascinating narratives are yet to play out. A vengeful fallen queen looks to recclaim her throne. A talented upstart looks to usurp the dominant ruler of his backyard. Two warriors stake their claim on neutral territory but a wronged spirit lurks in the background.

Tonight will bring the final pay per view of 2016. will close an amazing year for the company with another superb card. In an intriguing welterweight bout, Neil Magny will face Johny Hendricks. Neil Magny is looking to get back in the win column against the veteran. Prior to UFC 202, Magny was on a win streak with victories over the likes of Hector Lombard and Kelvin Gastellum. Until, he ran afoul of Lorenz Larkin on the August card. He looks to wipe that TKO loss from people's minds with a win over 'Bigg Rigg'. This is no easy task, Hendricks has fought some of the best in the division's history and always has the potential to surprise with a swift knockout.

Another exciting fight on the card will likely determine the next contender for the 135 pound title. John Linkeker takes on TJ Dillashaw. Lineker is a power punching bantamweight whose spectacular finishes have bought him a title eliminator.

Dominick 'The Dominator' Cruz has the best movement in the UFC. His slips, rolls and footwork are akin to fighters such as Roy Jones Jr., Anderson Silva and . Can Cody's power help him do what mentor, Urijah Faber couldn't? Or, will Cruz's lightning fast dodging negate his devestating avoidance?
