The time has finally arrived, everyone! Pokémon GO has escaped into the wild, and is being rolled out across the globe! Albeit only in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the US so far. Patience is a virtue, Europe!
But with the obvious excitement of chasing Pokémon around the streets and parks of your neighborhood, using the dark magic of augmented reality, naturally there are a few people that are fairly (and rightly) apprehensive about the incoming deluge of kids running around and not watching where they're heading. Because, you know, "GOTTA CATCH THAT PIDGEY!"
Police and the emergency services in Australia's Northern Territory recently posted a lovely little message warning the region's budding Pokemon trainers to remain vigilant when chasing down pocket monsters IRL.
For those budding Pokemon Trainers out there using Pokemon Go - whilst the Darwin Police Station may feature as a Pokestop, please be advised that you don't actually have to step inside in order to gain the pokeballs.
It's also a good idea to look up, away from your phone and both ways before crossing the street. That Sandshrew isn't going anywhere fast.
Stay safe and catch 'em all!
They're not wrong though, are they? So remember, those of you who are about to embark on adventures through the tall grass, left and right... gotta check 'em all!
Enjoying Pokémon GO? Which Pokémon have you caught yet?
