Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was a major experiment. The opening of the film is spoken by Apes who aren't speaking English, and there was no major star at the forefront. Gary Oldman had like two scenes.
Director Matt Reeves is back for the third prequel and Fox just released the title:
War of the Dawn of the Rise of the Tomb Raider of the Planet of the Apes of the Third Kind.
Reeves had this to say about the next installment in an interview with JoBlo.com:
The second movie was about having to rise to the challenge of being a great leader in the most difficult of times. This is going to be the story that is going to cement [Caesar's] status as a seminal figure in ape history, and sort of leads to an almost biblical status. He is going to become like a mythic ape figure, like Moses.
What do you think of the title?
