In our humble opinion, any day that starts with a conversation about Friends is a good one. And in our less humble, more smutty opinion, any day that starts with a conversation about Jennifer Aniston's nipples in Friends is an even better one. And that's exactly what we're going to talk about here — you're welcome.
In an interview with Vogue, Jennifer Aniston, a.k.a. Rachel Green — the one with the hair cut 90% of women across the globe copied yearly from 1994–2004 — talked candidly about the visibility of her nipples in essentially every single episode throughout the 10 seasons. Don't even try to pretend you don't remember — in some episodes her nips were almost fembot level erect. See?
As Vogue quite astutely noted, in many ways Aniston is somewhat the OG of the "Free the Nipple" movement. When they asked her how she felt about that, and the protrusion of her nips, she — perhaps unsurprisingly — didn't know how to answer:
"Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that! It’s just one of those things, I guess. I wear a bra, I don’t know what to tell ya! And I don’t know why we’re supposed to be ashamed of them—it’s just the way my breasts are! But hey, OG, I’m not going to complain!"
And proud she should be! Who wouldn't feel good about being hailed as an OG of a movement that strives for gender equality and body positivity? Exactly!
Of course the interview touched upon topics other than the 48-year-old's breasts; they addressed how she feels about the sudden escalation of interest in #Friends, for example, since the show arrived on #Netflix:
"It’s a weird resurgence, it’s like you’re frozen in time. Girls come up to me thinking that I’m still on the show! I’m so proud that it could have a second wind and still feel relatable, though."
I don't know about you guys, but if someone could actually freeze time and just have Friends playing on repeat for eternity that would be fab. K thanks, bye!
