(This is just for fun, 100% fake)
Warner Bros. Pictures, who have the rights to the Minecraft movie, have decided to drop it's second writer (Jason Fuchs) after looking closer into his film reception history of "Ice Age: Continental Drift," and "Pan" (both failing Rotten Tomatoes poorly). CEO and president of Warner Bros., Kevin Tsujihara, spoke about the event:
"After looking it over, and what happened when our rivaling company [20th Century Fox] chose bad writers for their movie, Assassin's Creed, we don't want to make the same mistake. We looked over Jason's reception history, and it was not good. We should've known better than just hiring a guy who worked for us once.
So now Warner Bros. chose 2 new writers with better reception history: Anthony Jaswinski (The Shallows), and Drew Goddard (The Martian). Kevin Tsujihara explained the choice of these 2 new writers:
"The producers persuaded me to choose these guys. Those 2 have wrote survival movies, involving only using what they have, and that's what this movie is going to be about. Both wrote good movies, so why not?"
Now onto the director they chose: Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, I Am Legend). Again quoting Kevin:
"None of our writers have directed a film before, and they weren't into the idea of directing one yet. While seeing which director has done good in a survival movie, we chose Francis, who I think will do well directing this kind of film."
Let's see how the Minecraft movie will turn out.
Will the Minecraft movie do better with these choices
