The Vampires Diaries Season 8 is set to grace our screens at the end of October and the CW trailer has me asking questions. It's no secret that Nina Dobrev has been confirmed to reprise her role as the ever villainous Katerina Petrova, or more commonly known Katherine Pierce.
But how exactly will the developer, Julie Plec, be bringing our favorite manipulating Kat back? If you haven't seen the Season 8 trailer yet, here it is...
"Evil herself"...hmmm. We all know that Katherine's character has proved to be the most unforgivable and corrupt of any antagonist on The Vampire Diaries.
I mean, even Kai can be forgiven because he obviously was mentally incapable of right and wrong.
But our dear Katherine, a twisted mix of Catwoman and Scarlett O' Hara (see pics below) knows right from wrong and goes ahead and does that little...ok maybe big, REALLY big bad thing despite reason.
If you remember ( I mean how could you call yourself a TVD fan if you don't!) ,in Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries, Katherine finally dies as old age catches up to her after Silas drains her of the vampire cure. But when her spirit meets Bonnie at the church, and Bonnie (as the anchor to the other side) tries to let her pass, Katherine is unable to. Instead, she is sucked away by something sinister. Was it maybe that last stab at beloved Elena? Injecting her with a deadly vampire-eat-other-vampire virus? Was that final act of pure evil what sealed the deal of Katherine's unsaveable soul? Turning her into something hideously nonredeemable?
Keeping Katherine from entering the 'other side' which subsequently imploded, was a smart move by The CW because it left Katerina's fate dangling mysteriously in our minds.
So what do you think? Is Katherine going to be TVD's final Big Bad in Season 8? Let me know in the comments. I'm a freakish TVD fan and would love to know your theories!
