I'm an actor who enjoys writing about comic book movies and t.v. shows.

Although not as prevalent as he once was in dragonball yamcha is strong for a human. In the very early days of dragonball in episode 5 to be exact yamcha the dessert bandit beat Goku. Yamcha was the last dragonball fighter to get the legendary turtle hermit training. For all the Yamcha haters out there watch dragonball minus the z. There are few dragonball fans who recall a time when Yamcha was a force to be reckoned with and relevant.

With the transition from dragonball to dragonball z all the human characters were rendered irrelevant and essentially useless. The only human characters who remained somewhat relevant were Tien and Krillin. Z made the saiyains more relevant while any none saiyain went down majority in relevance except Piccolo kept up in the early part of Z. For those who say yamcha is arrogant have you ever heard of vegeta the dude who indirectly killed him and knocked up his Vegeta know that guy is... supposed to be cool. Yes, I’m one of those dudes who prefers Goku over vegeta.

In Dragonball episode 13 yamcha makes a regular stone and shapes it into a cool stone sword. Also in this episode with the help of Puar Yamcha was able to defeat the giant ape version of young Goku.

In dragonball episode 16 goku was beginning to train with krillin under master roshi goku could best him in a fight. goku's real training didn't begin till episode 17 so it was fair to assume at this point yamcha was stronger than krillin and goku before the two-experienced turtle hermit training.

Wolf Fang fist is one of yamcha's most powerful moves throughout the dragonball anime series. He uses this technique to take down goku when the first meet and his still a bandit.

Looks like bulma goes from a dessert bandit to a guy who wanted to destroy the earth and who loved to make others. suffer both yamcha and vegeta exude confidence when in battle.

Yamcha was willing to fight the entire red ribbon army to help Goku.

Around the time of the fortune teller Baba Saga he had to face off against an invisible enemy which he was able to defeat. it was after the dragonball fighters were able to beat all of baba's fighter that roshi offered to train yamcha was the last and final student to join the turtle hermit school.

Yamcha always loses in the quarter-finals in 2 out of 3 cases it was to the winner of the entire tournament such as Jackie Chun and Tien Shinhan who Goku both lost to both in separate years in the final match. The only time yamcha didn't lose to the winner of the entire tournament was kame who trained Goku at the time to defeat Picollo Jr. who he faced in the final round.

During the 22nd martial art tournament he fought Tien Shinhan both being near equally matched. during this fight Yamcha's leg was broken. he later also trained under korin with Tien, Krillin, and Chaotzu to catch up to Goku's level of skill.

During the saiayain saga it took him one death to realize being cocky and overconfident is underestimating your enemy. It took Vegeta seeing super saiyain 3 to understand this.

Yamcha being a professional baseball player was an indication of the future downfall with fans when he was killed by a saibamen who was just as powerful as Raditz who at the beginning goku could barely defeat and that was with the help of piccolo.

yamcha was the only human who used the gravity room and in 300 times gravity no less and was strong enough to shut off the gravity machine. During the Frieza Saga goku struggled in 100 times gravity.

Yamcha got to king kai's planet a lot faster than Goku During his training at king kai's planet with the rest of the z fighters the Ginyu force is sent to otherworld and land on king kai's planet yamcha Defeated Recoome who even vegeta had trouble with at the time

During the Kid Buu saga when yamcha and krillin were in otherworld before yamcha went to otherworld he quit fighting and training all together until he went to otherworld. he Defeated Olibu with ease but Pikkon and Goku did not. Pikkon also took down Freiza and Cell with ease.

I would like to see a new design for Yamcha that is lest civilian even though Tien,Chiaotzu, and Krillin aren't exactly in the fights as much they at least have some fighter esque garb they sport in Dragonball Super.

The only thing he is good at now is playing baseball which he played professionally at the beginning of dragonball z.

A revamp such as this design would breathe new life into the character. The long hair is also enhances the design of the dessert bandit days before he became a joke. Comment and let me know what you think in the comments section.
