In October last year, actress informed fans on her Facebook page that she will be narrating the first-ever TV animated series from for . Now, fans get the chance to get a first look at Ronja, The Robber's Daughter, thanks to the advance trailer that has just been released.

is a 26-part series that follows the adventures of the 10-year-old daughter of a bandit king who discovers that the enchanted forest has a life of its own filled with mythical creatures, whilst starting a friendship with a boy from a rival tribe on the side. The show is directed by Goro Miyazaki, son of anime legend who gave us the animated classics Spirited Away (2001) and My Neighbor Totoro (1988), among many others.

Based on Swedish author Astrid Lindgren’s fantasy book novel, Ronia, The Robber's Daughter, the Amazon series is narrated by Gillian Anderson, star of The X-Files and The Fall. The award-winning actress had previously provided the voice of the vicious wolf Moro in 1997's Princess Mononoke, another Studio Ghibli classic.

Ronja, The Robber's Daughter will premiere on 27 January 2017 on Amazon in the US and the UK.
