The Walking Dead Season 7 was its most controversial ever among fans. Not just because of the premiere's intense violence, but also due to mistakes adding up — from set designs to prop errors to continuity problems to a plane in the sky. But it seems that last issue might not have been a mistake at all.
Back in Season 7, in the episode “New Best Friends," Rick is chillin' with the Junkyard Warriors, or whatever they're called. He's basically trying to make new BFFs so he'll have more allies in his war against Negan and the Saviors ... and behind him, there's some kind of flying object. Relive it here, over and over again, complete with some weird-ass music:
What was that in the sky? A UFO? A plane? A bird? Superman coming to end the zompocalypse? Well, thanks to TWD's most recent episode, that question might have been answered.
Note: This article contains heavy spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 8, Episode 5, "The Big Scary U."
Did We Already See The Helicopter Last Season?
Near the end of Season 8, Episode 5, Rick — as he's making his way back to the junkyard to try and re-bargain with the heapsters — hears a sound that he hadn't heard since Season 1, back in Atlanta. He looks up, and sees a freakin' helicopter flying overhead.
Unidentified flying object last season plus a helicopter this season, both near the junkyard? Could it be that the group living among the junk may be more technologically advanced than their extremely short sentences have led us to believe, and are actually operating complex flying machines?
To be fair, the object flying behind Rick last season seemed to be going pretty fast for as far away as it was, almost too fast for a helicopter. But if the heapsters have a chopper, why not a small plane, too?
Do you think the helicopter fills Season 7's plot hole? Let me know in the comments!
