A mere 200 yards from shore, surfer Nancy is attacked by a great white shark, with her short journey to safety becoming the ultimate contest of wills.
It’s been 40 plus years since Jaws hot our screens and it’s about time we get something as awesome for the next 40.
Well The Shallows is not that film.
What a way to end my 2016 or maybe watching this movie was a reflection of the type of year it was.
It doesn’t really have a storyline, I mean they try but it just feels forced and uncreative to the point where you just want the shark to hurry up and come along.
The effects are just horrible in this film and it’s horrible that it’s on par, if not worse, than one of those Z-Grade Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus films! There was a scene with Black Lively surfing and you could plainly see that her face was superimposed onto someone else’s body.
Not to mention the whole confrontation scene at the end between Nancy and the shark, resulting in a special effects mess and a stupid and unrealistic death.
This is also a film where your lead star, Blake Lively, get’s out acted by everyone else, including a bloody CGI seagull.
It was boring and crap and you should go watch Sharknado rather than this!
