As an Orc horde invades the planet Azeroth using a magic portal, a few human heroes and dissenting Orcs must attempt to stop the true evil behind this war.
The extent of my knowledge of Warcraft is that there is a thing called Warcraft!
This wasn’t a bad movie but it wasn’t exactly great either.
The story did feel a bit jam packed and cluttered, there were definitely characters and stories that could have been left out. There were also a few moments in the film where you feel like you’re building up to something big but then it fizzles out and is over in a couple of seconds, which could be a result of not having enough time to explore them fully.
The effects were awesome, including the mythical animals, but there are some moments in the film that change from looking real to looking like it is clearly being done on a green screen and the same instances with the Orcs, most of the movie they look life-like and then some points they turn to looking like rubber.
The acting was good, was surprised to see so many well-known actors in it, including Ben Foster (Alpha Dog), Ruth Negga (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and even Glenn Close (101 Dalmations)!
While the movie does leave threads open for a sequel, I would hope that it’s a lot better than this film and not so cluttered.
An entertaining movie that I probably won’t watch again but might see a sequel if one ever gets made!
