San Francisco is situated in a very scenic place and is considered one of the most beautiful places in the USA. It is a city of contrasts, having incredible thick fogs. Spectacular views of the city and its attractions entails a huge number of tourists.

Every day crowds of tourists gather near the famous Hanging Golden Gate to make beautiful photos of the city or just enjoy the panorama. However, in San Francisco and its Bay-Area there are a lot of other points, from which amazing views are opened.

Do you want to know where you can admire the city? This article will certainly help you!

Mandarin-Oriental

Tower of Koit

From the tower, included in the National Register of Historic Places of the United States, one of the best views on downtown San Francisco is opened. However, to get to the observation deck, you have to pay (the maximum price for an adult is $7).

Land’s End

If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean from Cape “Land’s End”. Moreover, it is an ideal place for hiking.

Twin Peaks

Two small hills in the center of San Francisco called Twin Peaks (don’t confuse with the fictional city of the eponymous series) are the second highest hill in the city after Mount Davidson. If there is no fog, you can get incredible photos. Panorama of 360 degrees, when the whole city sees as in the palm of your hand… Such an incredible view, especially recommended in the evening and misty morning.

Place of inspiration

Corresponding to its name "The Place of Inspiration" in the Presidio Park (former fort), will open for you unique views of the San Francisco Bay, Angel Island and Alcatraz Island, which housed a well-known prison for especially dangerous criminals.

Mount Davidson

The highest hill in the San Francisco area is Mount Davidson. It reaches almost 300 meters in height and provides delightful views of downtown and Twin Peaks.

High-rise garden

The garden on the 11th floor of the building, in which various state institutions are located, also allows making unusual photographs of the city with numerous high-rise buildings and structures.

Transparent Elevator

The glass elevator at the WESTIN Hotel in San Francisco allows you to enjoy different views of the city as you go up or down. However, unfortunately, the hotel management has changed the rules of using the elevator - now it requires a guest key.

Grand View Park

You need to climb the stairs to the top, overcoming the distance of 666 feet. You will have a wonderful view of the Sunset district and the Golden Gate Park.

Sutro Tower

It is almost impossible for tourists to get to this place, of course, but this radio mast and TV tower cannot be ignored simultaneously. This is the tallest building not only in San Francisco, but also in all of California (299 meters). This kind of view on the downtown cannot be found anywhere else.

The best way of moving around the city is by car. Apply to the car rental in San Francisco airport, there it is not difficult and inexpensive. Rent a car will cost about 40 USD per day without insurance plus gasoline. The cost of parking is 4 USD per couple of hours (if you can find a free place).
