Although AOU requires attention span and a little bit of previous viewing, Max basically jumps right in and is loosely based on the previous installments featuring Mel Gibson. Max flashed back and forth with the hero displaying classical signs of mental illness which honestly were a little hard to move past. Ultron had the classic pack of good guys vs near impossible odds and as the author mentions, numerous signs pointing to future installments. This, like other classics (Star Wars) really gets you excited and bought into a franchise. Max was seemingly a one trick pony. All in all both good movies but AOU was by far more intriguing and really grabbed you for the duration of the movie.
