... NOT including "The Hobbit" which I believe was "block-bustered" and stretched almost beyond recognition) but personally prefer Tolkien's written work. I've read all four books four times through and have my own "mental film" in my head, which the movie only approximates. And I've tended, through my life to "go to Middle Earth" when times are hard, being successfully carried away by the narratives. But I do love the films as they jump-start my imagination and visually editorialize insight to be added to my own personal version. So, no acrimony here, as I value your well-articulated opinion. As we have a habit of saying, for good or ill... "It's all good."
