... it frankly made Howard into an easier-for-the-public-to-swallow, cutesy, Chuck E. Cheese version of the cigar chomping, bad attitude, curmudgeonly snark machine from the comics. I didn't and still don't buy Chip Zien's voice coming out of that bill, when I want Lewis Black. I know Steve Gerber, who created Howard the Duck for Marvel Comics, is credited as one of the writers of the script, but (and I'm just guessing here) the subsequent writers the studio popped on *MUST'VE* taken the teeth out of it to "kidify" it a bit.
Meh. It was a let down for me in the '80s and continues to do so with its stubborn, continued existence now.
